For the sake of full disclosure I have to admit that I am a friend of John and his wife Liz. I bought the book because John is a friend. I was not aware that John was such an excellent writer.He has a real knack for painting a visual picture with words and his characters are very vivid, you feel as though you really know them. The story was a real page-turner. I finished the book in less than a week and that is quite a feat since I am also going to school. I was carried away with the story and can not wait for the sequel. This is also a book you will not worry about sharing with anyone. One of my disappointment is that many books today have language or subject matter that is inappropriate for people who are offended my swearing or low morals. This book has none of that content. This is a book that can be shared with anyone.

John Floyd Mills has great writing style fleshing out his characters and using clever subplots to keep his story moving along.
I wish author Mills would swim out of the christian side current and into the mainstream so many more readers would enjoy his work.
The book was well-written and suspenseful. The author did a great job taking me back to 1968 and drawing me into the story. I really cared for the godly man trapped in the mine who had influenced so many lives in his small town and I spent the better part of two days trying to "read" him out of it. I am looking forward to the sequel.
I thought the dialog was especially well done. I'm having some memory issues so keeping track is hard to do. So, switching from first to last name from one paragraph to another was difficult.
The story line and the thesis were excellent. I'm recommending the book to all my friends. I'm looking forward to the next book by Mills.

"Buried," by John Floyd Mills was an excellently written and fun book to read. There was a good mixture of a christian's faith displayed, some suspense, a sinister plot, and there was a nice love story told in this submission. I completely enjoyed the book, and I would highly recommend it to other readers, that may enjoy a great story! I did not want to put this book down, once I was into the story and it's several subplots along the way! Great work!
John Mills has succeeded in weaving a story of suspense and drama in his new book, Buried. From the first sentence to the last, he drew me in so much so, that I actually felt like I was right there with the others praying desperately above ground while a miner was was trapped below. Amidst the frenetic activity to rescue the miner, a reporter was being rescued from a mundane, empty, useless life, to a life transformed and bursting over with meaning as he discovered that what was missing in his life was a relationship with Christ. I believe Buried will cross over into the mainstream and all who read it will thoroughly enjoy this masterfully written thriller!
I read this book in manuscript form and I'm now rereading it in e-book format. The plot of BURIED is one that easily fits into a secular genre, but I found that the Christian premise added depth and meaning to the book rather than a distraction. The book is well crafted from a writing standpoint and an exciting read. It could be read from a strictly thriller point of view, but a thoughful and profound approach I feel is more fulfilling. The characters are vivid and the story rings as true as if it was the newspaper story the reporter originally expected to write.
